Hello, was just reading this and not sure how to understand it.

In U.S.A., Model SuperVent/SuperPro has been tested per UL103 as
a "Type HT" chimney by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. As such it
is code approved for connection to solid, liquid or gas fueled appliances
in which the maximum continuous flue gas temperatures do not exceed
1000°F. It has been tested and approved to withstand temperatures
of up to 2100°F for three ten minutes intervals.

I have trouble with the maximum continuous flue gas temperatures do not exceed 1000°F. That would only be 500deg on the outside of the flue pipe? Seems like the flue gases would be over the 1000deg alot of the time. With a probe thermometer I hit 1100 to 1200 most of the time. Whats going on when we are told to run hot at start up and reloads then can only go to 1000deg?
Thanks!
Don
