May 22nd and burning

The stove has been cold for about 5 wks now.
This evening it got down to 5*C and calling for 0*C plus frost!
Love the fact that billon black flies will vanish by the morning and.... I love wood heat....

That is a cool day for sure. Must be nice to fire it up again. We have had ours off for 3 nights in a row now as the house is getting lots of solar loading. I might be done for the year or until the next cold front moves in.

We had been in the 90s with the A/C on and then, boom, rainy and cold yesterday. Fired it back up last night here in the tropics of Virginia. Of course we are back in the 90s next week.

We had two days of 31*C and avg daytime of 23*C
Strange weather.
Dogs love the warm hearth!!

Just lit a fire a couple minutes ago. hard to believe given that crazy hot spell we had. I had to wear a jacket gloves and a toque on the lawn tractor this afternoon. Wind was cold when the sun was behind the clouds.

We're burning now too. Never stopped. Might skip a day or two and soon we will stop. Until September.

Started up the stove and burned up some uglies. Then we woke up to a near whiteout this morning. Our daughter refused to admit it was snow on memorial weekend and insisted that it must be tree pollen. Such an optimist She'll learn the way it is in Maine.

We have stayed above 50 at night so no burning here other than electrons. Woodshed is all stocked and ready to go for next season. Now I need to start splitting for the following season.

I wish it got cold enough to start the stove - wasn't quite. Many would think I'm crazy for saying that. Not looking forward to a hot summer. I heard on the news last night it was snowing in Burlington Vt. - sounds like even more so to the east in Maine.

I like Wildo's quote: "Why do they call it common sense if it is so rare?". What I'd like to know is, the speed of light is known - what is the speed of dark?

I hope you guys don't mind me talking *C, I have always had a hard time with *F... and it gets burdensome to constantly convert.
Isn't US slowly going *C? I picked up on several threads originating from the east coast discussing issues in *C.

Anyhow, fire last night, great heat, kids, dogs loved it!!
19*C all day today, now 17*C and 27*C for tomorrow
sadly no fire... I thinks this is it until early Oct!!

I can run the PE with fan off and heat the joint in these temps.

I wish we would convert it would streamline everything. Howevever the conversion is simple.
