Just got done cleaning the chimney. 18' of 7"x7" clay liner, 6' of single wall pipe. Got about a cup and a half of coffee grounds. I know that sounds like alot to most of you with better chimney setups than mine. I have come to the conclusion that unless I do some drastic reconstruction I am going to have some junk in my flue. Unless my MM is way off the random tests of my wood are all under 20%. The types of wood I burn is so varied it's hard to keep the fars consistent as to temps and smoke output. I dont have any oak so I aint worried about it not being seasoned enough.
I'm not sure what my options would be in relineing the chimney either.
I guess I do feel somewhat better in knowing that unless I did something really stupid I dont get enough of a buildup to start a chimney far. At least I'm checkin it anyways. I know guys around here that have NEVER cleaned their chimneys. My nerves wouldnt take that!
