These chimneys are on the grounds of an old camp built by the CCC in the 30’sIn Connecticut . I noticed that the chimneys have clay liners which speaks to their relative “young” age. I wasn’t thrilled about the graffiti, but oh well. 1981AA42-383F-4825-8F80-CA42B5382A2E.jpeg2A2C01D1-2711-4DA6-A925-17C916BD678C.jpeg

Neat. Woods reclaim faster than I thought. The field between two houses in Huntington CT where we played baseball as teenagers in the mid-1970s is now completely wooded. Has been for years.

Beautiful. Stone fireplaces with a true arch for the lintel. Somehow, that looks familiar.

You may need a good alibi for the timeframe around the 1930’s or else we may suspect you did it, lol.

Here’s one we snowshoe too on the west shore of the lake. It’s from a long time ago farm house by Hogback.
The wreath is set every year by friends and his widow.

My father was in the CC's in the 30's in Florida. He remembered being in swamps, and saw black men hanging from their necks from trees. He died at 103. Must have been some experience.

That is beautiful, with the moss and the snow on it. Beautiful wreath.
I built my fireplace and the log cabin it sets in. Someday, that will be all that is left of my place, an old stone fireplace standing as a lonely sentinel in the dark woods.

I will have to stop and take pics of some around us. There are 2 really nice ones that used to be at the ends of a dance hall. The town still maintains them as well.

Here’s a few more. Chimney is still in great shape. Found the well for the place as well. 65BD06B0-26AE-4081-B72B-715566233E2D.jpeg12E0815D-1167-4B6E-8D18-55536EFDB0F4.jpeg0867ECE9-F08A-4883-8FD7-A1BC67AF0F85.jpegF6BC12E1-B524-4FA7-B5EE-846C8326845B.jpeg
