Figured it would be a good time to do a test run for Winter #6 with the P61.
No issues. :)
Anyone else give in to the "cooler" temps?

Have a great week!

We have some upper 40's coming this weekend at 4000' elevation. I'll probably start a small fire in the morning to take the chill out of the house. Really looking forward to it!

Nope....42 here.

I had to scrape ice off my truck window Friday and today. Must be because I'm on a hill because nobody else I've talked to had that problem.

Low 40's this morning. Not even thinking about it.
Going to be around 90 in 2 days <>

i started winter #2 last year in late mid september.
that turned into an 8 month heating season.
i'm holding out for first burn sometime in october this year. we'll see though.
so far 40 degrees is the lowest we've reached.

oh hey. it's my 2 year forum anniversary.
thanks to all for the help, humor and knowledge.

It was 46 a couple mornings ago. Indoors was still 65 even with some windows open. Supposed to hit 90+ tomorrow. Gotta love fall.

I try to put the first burn off as long as possible. I'll consider it after October 1, but preferably after October 15. The longer I can hold out the better. Its not that I don't like burning wood or pellets, but that first fire is admitting to myself that summer is over and winter is soon to be here.

Dang! Still to early. House was 65ºF this morning. I'm probably going to test fire just to be sure I'm ready. Still hoping for a long warm fall and no stove running until mid October!

60 in the house I had to do it!

It was around 35::F last week and made a fire for overnight for the princess. Almost did again last night but I held off. No babies in the house which is a good thing otherwise you know what. Trying to make babies is another thing;) . Stay warm my friends and don't give in on temptations(except BEER!).

Second frost of the year this am - grape arbor under plastic again (but safe). A little early for this, but the house is still warm enough for no fire - especially now that I reinstalled the sliding glass window/door on the sun porch I had out for repair. Was a little nippy for a couple of nights with a 3'x8' hole in the southeast wall :)

Fired up my stove for the first time Friday night.

Wanted to burn the stove for the first time with the windows open to vent any funky new stove smells. I let is run for 3 hrs before turning it off.

The fans are a little noisier than I remember in the showroom but man does this throw heat!! Outside temp was 50...all windows and doors open...inside temp was 72.

Stove performed Perfectly!

Hey all you wimps you don't start a fire until the bucket of water on the porch freezes solid. The boss says it was 36.3 here this morning but I stayed under the covers, who in their right mind looks at a thermometer before having had the first cup of morning coffee?

39 ::F this morning at North Central Airport, to my east. Both stoves unplugged, cleaned and waiting for firebox paint this weekend. Did put the flannel sheets on. Now I see we are going to 91::F on Wednesday.

fired her up this morning my very first time, besides one other time when I got it installed about a week ago. Its like having a new toy but cant play with it lol..

60 needed heat? Must be due to the baby in the house.

I woke up overnight with the bedroom at 59... opened the windows a bit more. THEN, I was comfortable :)

woke up at 430 AM, to the sound of an oil burner, therm set to 55....ran out, lowered therm to 50, pushed "start" on the big black box......ahhhhh love that start up ignition sound!!! 34 here this morning!

might get the first frost tonight.
34f called for. but it often gets colder than forecast up on our hill.

sunny days and south facing windows will allow me to keep holding off on first burn.
