Does anyone have any tricks for moving air around the house more efficiently?
TL;DR: Any interesting tricks to even things out a bit more? I thought about closing all returns on the 2nd floor to try and pull more warm air from the first floor through the return system when the heat pump fan runs.
My CB1200i is in my family room... I prefer to set it on the lowest feed rate and fan speed and just let it rip 24x7 shutting down every few days for deep cleaning. The family room and the open concept kitchen stay very warm... the living room and dining room are at much cooler... and the 2nd floor at least 6-8 degrees cooler.
For reference, my home is two story (with a finished basement). Approximately 2,200 sq/ft.. I run the Heat pump fan in "Circulate" mode during the heating season... I have all but 2 supply closed on the first floor, and all returns open. Basically, the heat pump runs only to heat the 2nd floor using temp sensors in bedrooms. I also run a ceiling fan in the room with the pellet stove, and in my living room and the master bedroom.
Obviously, I have a lot of air moving around, but it's not being drawn out of the main room where the stove is.
As of right now, the room where the stove is, is 78 (temp sensor is roughly 19' away from the stove)... the attached open-concept kitchen is 76... and the dining room (same floor opposite end of the house) is 73.... Second floor is 72.
