10" splits do not stay stacked for long (ask me how I know!) Here is my solution to minimum handling.
Pile a bunch of short logs off the ground for a year.
Cut and split in the spring and place in your woodshed made of old deck boards, scaffolding and an old shed roof with a sheet of plastic under the base. Allow space for air movement between rows.
Enjoy, having only stacked it all once! At least it works for me.
