I'm at a loss here as to what brand to go with, so what say you? FWIW I have a P61A that burns just about anything, but that being said I don't want to do a weekly full clean due to ashy pellets.

Here are my options:

Energex (hardwood/softwood blend): $223/ton-these I have never burned
Ambience (Hardwood): $241/ton-these I have burned and they were pretty good
Northern (Hardwood): $247/ton-these I have burned and like them alot
Home Depot-North American: Never again, to ashy
TSC-not sure brand- $219/ton
VT Wood pellet: Don't know price, usually around $260 per and while good, they seem to burn fast in my stove

Finally, a newcomer to my area:

Geneva (Hardwood)- $239/ton, never burned them and saw only a few reviews on this pellet. Any thoughts?

At this point I am kind of leaning to the Ambience or Northern. Last year I did 4 tons of Fireside Ultras and wish HD did them again this year.

So, thoughts?

Thanks as always!

Northern gets my vote on that list .. I use to love them years ago but hard to find in my town now :(

Energex (hardwood/softwood blend): $223/ton- Not bad for the price!
Ambience (Hardwood): $241/ton- Pretty decent pellet!
Northern (Hardwood): $247/ton- Nice pellet at a good price!
Home Depot-North American- I'd pass unless real cheap!
TSC-not sure brand- $219/ton- Most likely MWP re-bagged for TSC and not half bad.
VT Wood pellet- Nice pellet, Burn super clean. Cleanest on your list.
Geneva (Hardwood)- $239/ton- Not a bad pellet, But for a couple a bucks more I'd go with Ambience or Northern!

I really liked the Ambience or Northern and the prices seem reasonable for either. What would also steer me with these is you have burned them and have experience which is a plus! VT would also work.

Thanks! I was leaning towards the Northerns or Ambience. Hadn't ever seen Geneva's though.

I'd split my order and get 1/2 each of the Northerns and the Ambience. And maybe a ton of the VT, depending on how many total tons you're getting.
