Looks good, Garni. Do you get much ash in that barrel under the exhaust outlet?

I don't get much ash. What I do get is alot of water. That barrel is almost full of water/ice/ash. Thats why my exh. pipe is turned sideways to expel the exhaust better. I am burning wet wood and my low exh temps cause the condensation which has contributed to the full barrel and the fact that we have been having a wet winter.

My exh. side is facing due south. I think that will be a prime location for my hot water panels. Thats this years project.

I get dirty icicles hanging off my chimney cap when it's down around zero. I assume these are from the water vapor. When it's warmer, the chimney emits only heat waves. When it's near zero and below, I get a white cloud of vapor that dissipates within about 10 feet.

anybody know where I can find the link of the video where the older retired gent in Wisconsin or wherever, that has a Garn and is firing it up. Not the same video as the interview w/ the couple at the kitchen table...

Thanks,
Mike

is that a morton building? nice just drive you wood into stack. where is the couch and tv?

It may be the same steel but i got the building from a local company that has been around awhile, Hartje lumber co.

Total costs for everything is right around 20k. Thats everything that it took to get me heating with wood. I did all the work myself except for pouring the concrete floor. I prepped it and laid down the foam but did not pour it.

Its a 30x30x11' shed with a 9'x16' ohd. I got to build me a little dump trailer or I was thinking of making a Pug like vehicle to get wood in. It works well right now, I back in the truck, turn on the radio, and stack away. This spring I hope to have the entire bay full for next season and hopefully the hot water panels will carry me through the summer for dhw.

Thanks,

I have a bunch of videos on my site of my GARN: www.pennbrookfarm.com/garn/garn8.html

Holy cow...... We are not worthy....... :)

Hi Jim,
I am still above ground ,Yes.......
The Garn is amazing....... I have had a nice warm house all winter...... (however) <----- dont ya hate that part! I should have spent a few more bucks and gone with the 2000.
I am just heating the home with it and not the barn this year , only due to the fact I was not sure if I would have this all together so my wood was not up to par to heat both. I am finding that the 1500 does the home on two burns a day in the extreme cold. Now if I added the barn which is 36x36 three bay two story radiant floor though out, I would be looking at four burns..... Man there is just not enough time in a day... ;)
Anyway, in all honesty we have not really missed having the barn heated, wifes gym, motorcycle storage my old boat project. toasty trucks... u know.....
Anyway sorry its been so long the company owns me all winter!

Garn, It really looks great nice and clean and tons of room! Well done!

Glad all is well. The difference in burn frequency is exactly why I went with the 2000. The difference in cost was not that much relative to the overall price. If they had a 2500, I would have gone for that. I am toying with the idea of adding more storage, some in the house and some in my garage (500 gal each).
