Hi all,

I apologise if this is a silly question. I just acquired a pre-cat Vermont Castings Intrepid and it has some minor leaks around the top. I want to have it properly rebuilt next year, for now I will try to patch it up with a little cement. I am wondering how much these leaks will affect the stove's heating capacity and wood consumption. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

Heating capacity should be the same, it's gonna burn through the wood faster than an air tight unit,
but the rate is unknown...You'll have to experiment to find out.
