The (cast casing broke) holding the studs which the muffler is bolted on with. This realy sucks..........

Here is a pic. of the muffler with the studs attached.....
A lot of years (hours) did this, bummer..........

That is a bummer, kinda like loosing a good dog.
 
probably someone on AS with parts saw laying around. or is itnot worth fixing?
I don't mean economically, more for nostalgia reasons....
 
Well I found a jug on ebay for $35. replaced all the hoses did a carb kit new plug and any thing else I could think of....and I had trouble starting it... turned out after (several times) taking the carb apart and cleaning and blowing it out with comp. air .... I finally got it going....Man these carbs are touchy.... When replacing the jug I saw the rod and crank bearings are still good. These saws are built to last....
Glad to have it up and running again..you know I bought this thing new 20 or so yrs. ago.......
