Not sure if this question has already been asked, but can't seem to find anything in the search of forums so here it goes...
Does anyone know what the type of material is used for the air wash gasket on the Napoleon 1402? It's frustrating that I am on my third replacement of this in less than ten years at about $40 each time. I was wondering if there's a way to just by a roll of that gasket material and cut my own. We have a business were we use a CO2 laser to cut/engrave materials, and I thought it would be perfect to just cut out a few of these if I have to replace it so much. The shield is metal so it shouldn't need replacement, just unscrew it, put in a new gasket and move on!

Thanks!

New to the forum and reviving this old thread. I have a Napoleon 1101 and I am also curious about this material. I was cleaning up my stove and removed the shied and the gasket. Its more of a soft filter than a gasket but it was so deteriorated that I need to replace it. I called Napoleon and its part number W290-0012 and its a pain to find. Still trying to find someone that carries this.

I am wondering what kind of material this is. Is it some type of fiberglass/high temp material? Does anyone know what this material is? Like kbrown mentioned on this thread, I'd like to just get a roll of this and cut it out myself.

Ceramic fiber, yep that looks to be what this is thanks begreen! I just ordered that gasket and once I have it on hand I can trace a template, get the thickness, and order up a sheet of ceramic fiber from Amazon.

I wonder if I can run the stove without that filter temporarily while I wait for the gasket to show up (its cold this week!).
The filter restricts/filters the air wash flow so no filter means less restriction of air, so more air in the box and it just may run a bit differently.

It looks like the old gasket could be put back in place temporarily if the stove must be run. Try to keep it as intact as possible and run the stove on partial loads to maintain good control.
