I just bought a Napoleon 1400PL and the owner's manual call for a non combustable hearth pad. It does not indicate a R value or anything. My thought is to build an pedistal out of 2x4 with 3/4 plywood with 2 layers of wonderboard or durarock and tile. Does anyone think that this is enough? Or not enough?
