It smells like oak and wet dog.
Very dense, that piece weighs
About 90lbs
East Texas area.

I am not from West Texas.....but I can see rays in the pics. So I'm thinking it is some kind of Oak.

Oak. Oak always smells funky. I love oak, it is not the best firewood, but it is very good. Easy to split.
One of my favorite firewoods.
