Hello hearth room,

I need help attaching the black double wall stove pipe to the flue port on my wood stove. My model stove is Ashley Hearth Bay front Model: AW180.

This model stove does not have a flue collar that stands proud like most stoves. The manual offers virtually no help, just says install pipe and secure to stove with three screws.

The dbl wall stove pipe I bought was from menards and is Selkirk brand. But if I need to get different pipe that’s fine- I just don’t know how to secure/fit stove pipe to the stove.

The selkirk stove adapter is much too large and just sits loose on the top of the stove. The regular pipe is a bit too large to fit into the port. But even if I did fit it in, I don’t know how I could secure it with theee screws and would assume smoke would poor out and/or get behind the first wall and into the second wall of the pipe.

I tried to attach a few photos. Hope that helps describe my situation.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
REN

You will just have to forget about securing the pipe to the stove unfortunately. Most manufacturers don’t seem to give a lot care about the connection with double wall. Especially Chinese stoves.

Tiny firebox, where did you buy the stove? Is there a possibility of returning it? If not, what is the ID of the flue hole?

Depending on the Double Wall pipe you're using, many manufacturer's make specific adapter piece for use on Stoves that don't have a protruding Flue Collar. ICC Ultrablack has the UBSE - which states this as the main reason it even exists.

Good tip. That is why I was asking about the stove flue ID. Selkirk also makes a flush flue adapter - 266249.

Unfortunately, I can’t return it- bought end of season from Tractor supply last spring.

Awesome! My retailer didn’t have that as an option but I just ordered one from a chimney supply and am having it overnighted so I can try to install it this weekend.

Hopefully that’s what I need. I will check the exact ID measurement when I return to it.

Thanks for the direction all!
