I have a prefab fireplace in my home circa 1981. Last winter the fire brick / fire board that's in the back and in the sides, where the fire goes, broke and has a hole in it.

I looked up on how to replace it and in a normal fireplace I don't think I'd have a problem, but I can't figure out how to get to the board in order to remove it so I can replace it with a new a new piece. How do you get to the back piece to replace it? There's no clips at the top like in a regular fireplace.

Lost,

What are the make and model of the fireplace? Is it a wood or gas model?

Usually the floor comes out, then a side brick. Easier to remove both sides typically.
