new chimney for Drolet Heatpro

I'm in process of picking up all the materials for installing a new Heatpro in my shop in NW WI.
I have decided to use Selkirk DSP ( double wall ) stove pipe & 6" super vent for the through the roof items.
In shopping for the double wall DSP pipe, I need an adjustable length to hook up to the furanace. I found one at Menards & opened the box to see how it adjusted on another piece of 3ft DSP they had on the shelf.
Holy balls, it was so tight I couldn't budge it to adjust at all, are they supposed to be this snug or do they need to be oiled up a bit to adjust.
Maybe I picked a unit that was faulty & should shop for another unit at another store, what do you think..

OK, I went to another Menards store today to check out the adjustable length DSP stove pipes. They had two on hand
to look at, I opened the box & it adjusted easy peasy. I don't know what the problem was with the other unit, but it was locked bigtime..

Yah, 'til it gets sooted up. Nah, they work pretty good, unless you creosote 'em up.

You can also make them harder to adjust by installing your probe flue temperature meter in the overlap section. It's nice to avoid that if you can.

Also, sweep the chimney before collapsing the section if possible. My install is all vertical. I wouldn't have to remove the double wall at all if not for access to the top of the stove to clean out all of the swept debris.

Oh yeah, don't dent the slip section. It is easy to dent this stuff which will bugger up the slide.

I like the looks of the furnace, especially the lifting hook attached to the heat exchanger for moving it around. I have a question about moving the baffle boards for cleaning the heat exchanger. The firebox is quite deep, I can't reach far enough back to move the rear baffle board not to mention the air tubes. How to gain access to these items, I doubt you remove the door for the air control..
I'm raising the furnace on 8" cement blocks before hooking up the chimney parts
