New Harman P43

Hi, names Matt. I just finished installing my Harman this weekend, and been burning ever since. I have an interior/through the attic vertical install. I'm still playing with the stove and learning more about it.

Tonight is the first colder night (30s) and the stove has never shut off being set at 72 degrees. I have my heat pump turned off and most of the house (1,400sqft) is pretty warm.

Does anyone heat their entire house with their stove or do you use both the stove and heat pump? I usually keep my heat pump thermostat at 67, and is currently at 69 with stove running. I'm looking for efficiency while also saving on the electric bill.

Bought my stove and had it installed in December. Heat my entire 1800 sq foot house with about 3/4 bag a day with the kitchen area being 75 and back bedroom being 70. Has been great.

we have about same square footage you do but a 2nd floor of bedrooms.
we do heat exclusivly with our Harman P61A,, 24/7
Keeps downstairs in the low 70;s and upstairs around mid 60's..but only using around half of it's capability..
have oil fed furnace for hot water baseboard heat but only use it for domestic hot water for past 4 years... we use at least 1 bag a day.. more if it's bitter cold and windy.
P61A has a much larger burn pot so uses more pellets.

That's great to hear! My stove is in my living room (middle of house) and my heat pump thermostat is all the way at the end of the hallway near the back bedrooms. From what I've gathered so far I burn about the same, bag wise.

3400 sq foot house... open floor plan down and 4 bedrooms up. Heat pump is off entirely downstairs... upstairs the heat pump will kick on at 5:30 am to bring the temp up to 68. Runs for about 90 mins and then is off for the remainder of the day.

P43 in the back corner of the structure. LR, DR, kitchen all have vaulted ceilings. All have ceiling fans. Stove keeps living area at 72, Bedrooms on other end of house stay at about 66. Stat on heat pump stays at 66. Rarely comes on. I use the heat pump exclusively if outside temps are above 36. Its the most efficient at that temp. I also have a Serenity in the basement I run when it really gets cold, or when working in the unfinished basement. House is a ranch, built in 2004, 1300 sqft. Just finished 3 tons for the heat season. I also have forced air propane, Only use when I am away for several days. Hope this helps.

I have a Harman PC45 heating 1200sq ft. It's 76 where stove is at and the back of the house which is bedrooms is 67 to68.you can always bet on a bag a day of pellets,l think its kind of the standard.

Been heating just under 2,400 SQ FT on two floors with my P68 24/7 for four seasons now. I dis switch to wood and my OWB during some very cold snaps mainly just to run it. The 68 will handle the super colds too. I never turn my heat pump on. Never. I use it for AC all summer though.

Since you have a central HVAC heat pump system you can turn on the fan only to run and help distribute air more evenly. I do that when it's colder and also use ceiling and a couple of box fans which works well. Good Luck & you will like that stove.
