For those of us with the Defiant Encore 2250 , this clears up some things…
I was going bananas finding proof that this stove even exists and not a figment of my imagination — even though it’s very clearly labeled on the rear plate.
Here’s the deal…
Vermont Castings won’t help at all, they insist all queries go through a dealer. Finally I found a place that actually tried to help instead of blowing me off; instead of just saying I read the number wrong. They contacted VC.
It turns out the 2250 is actually a 2550 — for a small number of stoves they stamped the plate incorrectly with a typo so it appears to be a “2250” when it is actually an honest to god 2550.
I kid you not.
So no - you will never find a manual for the “2250”
