The parts have started to arrive. Two 3' straight pipes and some brackets.

Both pipes have several minor dings. Annoying but I can't see would affect the working.

Both also have one deeper, wide dent that you can actually see on the inside wall. Hard to see in the pic, but there.

One has a ding on the top rim (where it seats in the groove of the next section. It *looks* like it locks properly.

Should these go back, and keep sending back damaged parts until I eventually get a whole set of good pipes or are these defects to be expected and not a problem?

I would return them for sure.

That's some crappy packaging or serious mishandling...or both. First thing I'd do is attach the pics to a polite e-mail to the vendor asking for their instructions on how to proceed. Rick

Unless you bought them from the scratch and dent section?

I bought my Metalbest pipe from Dynamitebuys, and it came well packaged and dent free. When I added a 3' piece later on, I got it from an Amazon seller. It was not packaged anywhere near as well as the first stuff, which was shipped directly from Selkirk. And had a big ole dent.

Yeah they are no good the dent on the end will keep you from putting it together and if the dent went through to the inside it had to have compressed the insulation which compromises its effectiveness.

Holy crud! These are very expensive and nice pipes. They should be perfect. Wow. No question, they should go back.

Wow, that's some incredibly bad packaging. I got my entire setup from northline express and it arrived well packaged and in perfect condition with the exception of one piece; the thin trim ring. Had to order that one 3 times. With the price you pay for class A chimney, I'd never accept that.

When I have ordered pipe on line (3 times) there were no dents at all. A ding on the locking rim is automatic cause for return.

Excellent! Rick

well done.

Glad to hear it. Just the way it should be. Shiny, pretty, and dent free.
