Hi,

I just installed the pipe and looking for your opinions. I used 3in pelletvent pro. i have the stove adapter, 6in, a tee, 90, and a 45. The 45 goes into the thimble to a T on the other side of the wall and up through the roof. I didn't have much room where the 45 goes into the thimble. I enclosed some pictures. Do you think its ok with the 45
touching the thimble, or should i put a 6in after the 45 through the wall into the T on the other side.

Seems to be very close to wall I think to CLOSE
It looks like it would not pass manufactures clearances
Check specs to see if the clearance is OK

The wall is blueboard and plaster. It just makes the 1in clearence. But I agree. I think i'll take the T out and put a 6in through the thimble. Thatshould take me a couple of inches at least off the wall.

Good idea - even though technically "ok", I would rather play it on the safe side.

Can you not attach that T directly to the adapter? then you could put on the 45 - then the 6" extension without needing any more pipe. However, if you used an adapter other than the Harman adapter, probably not as the Harman adapter gives you another inch or two to clear the back of the stove.

Also, It looks to me as if the junction from the 45 to the outside pipe is inside the wall - that is a no-no. Forgive me if that is not the case, just want to make sure .

There should be NO vent pipe joints in the wall thimble to prevent smoke from burning up the walls. If may not pass inspection if the inspector sees it.
Also the wall thimble should be secured to the wallboard with wall anchors if not screwed to the studsi. I usually put a 2 foot section of 3" diameter pipe thru the wall but you need a 1 foot section minimum

Maybe I am not reading this right, but did you just put the 45 up to the thimble without a pipe going through the thimble?

The 45 needs to connect to a pipe going through the thimble (with no connections inside the thimble).
