Been super busy running to the ends of the earth handling a sick relatives wishes (terminal cancer)
Have had zero time to do a shell run so far this season.
We recently bought a Smart car to handle the daily needs at an affordable price (Good fuel economy) and this left us with only the old K5 Blazer to do anything else.
Without a large rig to haul stuff, including people, we decided to get another Suburban.
Found a lovely 1995 K2500 4x4 in great shape for $2000
Yesterday dawned dry and cloudy, with rain forecast for late evening, so we decided that this was our shot at a shell run for the near future, at least a week or better.
With stock getting down, it was a go.
We saddled up the rig, loaded the 3 yard dumpster and headed to the plant.
We got a light weight and off to the hopper to load.
Solomon did the honors with the gates and soon our dumpster was full to the brim.
A quick weigh out and pay the cashier and we are headed home.
Took about 3 hours from start to finish and we are in good shape, at least until lat Jan early Feb depending on the weather.
The kids helped with the chore and it made things easy.
The new (to us) rig had been set up by the P O to tow a 30 foot house trailer, so our load was not at all hard.
Loaded weight of truck and trailer was 11000 #
The old girl handled it sweet.
