I installed the SS chimney through middle of house, followed all manufacturers/code requirements (2" min clearance, firestop/joistshield. attic insulation kit, etc.), and everything when almost perfect except when the pipe exits the roof (following 10'/3'/2' rule), it has a slight offset from vertical (between 5˚ & 10˚). The reason is because the flashing kit had such a tight fit against the ridge vents on the roof peak.

Note: The chimney pipe goes straight up to attic and offsets using the 30˚ elbow pair kit from Selkirk.

My questions are: is this OK for code, insurance to be slightly off vertical (5˚ to 10˚) on roof and how will it impact draft (if at all)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW, this is a great resource forum.

It's actually more like 2˚ off from vertical.
