After burning the VC Defiant for 10 years that was in the house when we bought it, here I am running my first break in burn on our new Jotul F55. I'm super excited for what I hope is a much longer burn time on this stove. This system of only having air control to manage the burn is new to me, since the VC had a damper to shut down. Im used to burning the VC hot, keeping creosote to a minimum due to a tall chimney. My question is at what temperature are you folks choking down the air? And how much? I know it's going to be some trial and error. Just looking for feedback and tips from anyone running the same stove.
Cheers to a new heating season! 🍻
