Just picked up a Hucqvara 142 chain saw.

It has a 16" bar on it ,will also get a 14" to run also.
Seems lighter than my 350, will use for liming.
So lets here your input.

How much didja pay for it? Never ran many Huskys, I do have a 372XP and I LOVE THAT SAW! Never hurts to have a couple smaller saws in the lineup for limbing/bucking tops. Alot easier on the back to limb and buck a downed tree with a tiny saw than it is with a big saw......

Bar and chain look a lil worn ? did you get this used . Maybe its just the pic is it brand new ... Whats the weight ,probably a good limb saw.

Keep the 16", skip the 14".
142 is an orange Poulan-clone, not a horrible thing in and of itself but if you were expecting a mini-346XP, that it ain't.
Lots of muffler/carburetor issues with these (and I believe carb re-tuning requires a special tool. [They're cheap online]) so read up and catch things early. If it runs good then I would just keep a very close eye on the muffler bolts and make sure they do not loosen up on you. (Husky syndrome , thsi advice applies to your 350 as well, they were notorious for loosing muffler bolts.)

The positive, saw has very good power output for a small saw and will run that 16" bar with 3/8" Low-Pro chain all day in any wood.

And oh yeah, get rid of that chain! Have a Stihl dealer cut you some Picco loops. That alone will make the bigest difference.

I got it used for $100 with a new chain in the box. I do have other chains and maybe a bar, will have to look.
I will check muffler bolts.Thanks for the heads up!

I bought a nice old Stihl 009L with a 12 in. bar for e-limb-inating. The first thing I noticed was I was doing a LOT more bending over with it. I wonder how big a bar I can put on that saw. Keep the 16, maybe get a bigger one if you can.
