Good morning all,
New member who bought a house in south central pa and have what I think is a baker double eagle in my basement.
It's inserted into an old brick fireplace and the previous owner used it alot.

I'm trying to get a handle on proper use to avoid smoky situations at start up and burn out.

I had a fire in it the other day and opened the front draft controls (didn't notice a traditional damper system) with start up and closed them half way once fire was established. I'm also used the blower to circulate the heat out more

Any guidance for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to find out is it hooked up properly with a full insulated liner and is that liner clean and in good shape.
