My wife and i finally are getting a Lopi republic 1750i installed in just over 2 weeks. We also are having both chimneys relined. Just want to say I've been reading and learning alot since we started this adventure. Stoves have really changed since i was a young sap. Thanks for all the help.

First let me say Welcome. Nice stove you are getting.

Makes sure you have good season wood 20% moisture content or less, buy a moisture meter.

They have them at Lowes.

That's my x factor. Over the weekend i pulled a few pieces. They were 25 - 35%.
I should have enough this year.

I do have one question i have no problems splitting my own wood. I do not have a vehicle to pick up and transport my wood. What's a fair price to have someone deliver tree length firewood. In north Jersey.

Call your local tree guys you may be able to get wood dumped for free this was a small 6 wheel dump truck about 4 cord and cut up as they load by hand.

CMAG is right, in NJ you shouldn't have a problem getting the tree guys or even smaller landscaping guys to drop the stuff off free of charge. Where abouts in NJ are you?

sounds like I will be stalking some tree companies. I live in northern morris area

same here, a little tougher by us but because more and more people have gone to burning. Just keep your eyes and ears open. I'm in Rockaway, so if your close I usually have extra rounds or logs being delivered. Sometimes too much for me to handle

I don't know how much logging is done in your neck of the woods, but we pay $60-$75 (chip rate) an cord for mixed log loads delivered. Just call loggers in your area and ask them. For us it's just as cheap to get it delivered as it is to play fetch with one less time to have to handle the wood and cutting/splitting at my leisure.

That's the same stove we've got and I love it. You can run without the blower in power outages and get a ton of heat without electric - and you can even cook on it if you want/need to. Very easy to operate, ours has been just great all around. Good luck!
