Hello-

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question-I am not exactly what you would call "handy". I recently moved into a home and have a wood burning fireplace with a gas starter. I am curious how difficult and costly it would be to convert this fireplace to a fully gas system. I plan to lookup some professionals in my area of course, but before doing so, any comments are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Some pix of your existing set-up will help us to determine what can be done.
Without them it would be all guesswork.

your plan is a good one, consult with a local expert.

go to their showroom and look at some models.
bring pictures and measurements of your fireplace and opening

ask them to do a site visit once you have a couple of models in mind (that you like the looks and performance of)
