Hi Tammysteve- the thermostat is normally the on/off switch for quads. The stove knows you are calling for heat or not. You can put a switch in its place on back of the stove at the stat connections if you want, or just put the stat up all the way and it will run manually. Open the right side panel door (as you look at the stove), the door clips are behind that. Hope this helps.
