Built our house 4 years ago, put a hearth and outside chimney in thinking we were going to get a wood stove. Instead we got a pellet stove, ESW 25PDVC. Have been using it for 3 years, and just know starting to learn about it. 1st question is- it's tied into the outside chimney, standard pellet stove double wall pipe that enters a 10' round flue pipe that exits into the chimney, should the chimney have a smaller liner of some sort, or is it ok for it to exit into the upright flue ? At times when it's windy out it sounds like a helicopter is hovering above the chimney. 2nd question was going to ask about a OAK, but after reading some post on the forum, I'm going to put one in. have many of the issues that seem to be caused by not having one. (major floor draft, front glass gets dirty in no time, not much heat)

thanks,
scot
