This is a nice site here. I have been checking it out for a few days now. I am having an Avalon Perfect Fit installed tomorrow. I have enjoyed reading some of the posts. Lots of info. to take in with the new insert. I am sure glad I have good seasoned wood, seems that is key.

This place is sorta like the Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

You're right, dry and seasoned wood is a very important key; another key is a safe, to code install and especially a good chimney. Welcome to the forum. I like SF's take on it.

i wish Craig had Hearth.com T shirts

Caps and T's coming up......actually, I did get some hats.....you can even order some (for my cost...I make nothing)...

I agree. I am always amazed by the depth of knowlege of all the participants here. Even more amazed that it is not only on wood and stove topics but on all other topics also. Even kind of intimidating sometimes because there are so many intellegent people. Great place to learn through experiences before making the wrong decision. Kind of like having a spouse that knows all about everything. Agreed it is a great site.

LOL.... seems appropriate! Once 1.20.09 happens all those folks with the "Bush's last day" sticker will need something else. What better than a hearth.com bumper sticker! ;-P

Seriously. Hearth.com IS the place to be for wood burning. Lots of knowledgeable and friendly people and a great guy in Craig at the helm.
