The only thing that struck me was the noise of the feeder. Overbuilt for sure with that 3/8 chain and sprockets! I wonder why he didn't use a stock gear motor?

Looks like he is the type of person that uses what he has on hand at the time. If the motor dies, he will replace it with something totally different.
