Now know what a clinker is...thanks AWF

I've had my Mt Vernon for 2 years and have never really seen a clinker. I have seen pieces of clinkers when I empty the ash pan but never a whole one. I burned 2 bags of AWF and I came home to a stove that wont light. Upon inspection, I find the ignitor gets hot but pellets wont catch. I let the burn pot cool and stick my hand in and pull out a clinker - 1/2 a hockey puck - that the autoclean couldn't shake free. Anyone want 3 bags of AWF...free.

Use them for soaking up oil etc in the garage. Use for pet bedding as they aren't worth a S$#%

Haven't had it as bad as you, but AWFs are one of the two worst pellets I've ever burned (other was Green Supreme). Very "cool" pellet that produced very little heat. I still have about 10-12 bags and will use them as "shoulder" pellets in my Quest on days when it's not very cold. But they are off my list of acceptable pellets for the future, unless desperate.

The AWF pellets burn just fine in my Harman 38+. I burned about 3 ton so far, not clinker issues. You could try mixing them with whatever you find to replace them.

Ah, but you sig says you're going to Hamer's Hot Ones next year (that's some good planning, btw...). Wait'll you make the switch... GREAT pellet, by comparison.
