current production year? Mixed ton, was wondering if it is leftover stuff a few years old from someones basement.

Right, but they also aren't same quality year after year. You got a lot of pellet manufacturers who will make good pellets one year, lousy the next..for instance, PA Pellets, New England, Etc. Also, sitting in a basement for a couple of years means the potential of more movement, stuff stored on top of them, small holes , etc. Just putting something someplace dry doesn't give them a good bill of health.

I've been using Oakies exclusively for 5 years and they all seem pretty consistent. I can't speak for the Hamers.

Happen to be using that exact mix right now myself (Douglas Fir Okies and Hamer's Ultra Premium). Both are excellent - Hamer's are low ash and high heat, while the Okies are super low ash and high heat. Only difference I see from the Hamer's from last year to this year is more dust in the bags (marginally).
CT pellets. They are located in Connecticut that's why they charge so much for delivery to NY. They have a website with other pellets I have not seen in any of the box stores.

Torrington Connecticut is worlds away from Chester. Ive been up there. Tsc and hd has good supply. Check there

Hamer's Ultra Premium (0.5% ash) are my go-to cold weather pellet. High heat, very little ash. Excellent pellet.
Called CT Pellets and was told that their stock was for reserved customers on the list. In order to get on the list you have to order around April. I found another company located in Branchville, NJ that has Turmans and Lignetics, $300.00/ton. They deliver to Chester, NY for approx. $30-50. They offer free storage so you can go and pick what you want at any time. You have to get on their list, and they will call you when something comes in, they get shipments twice a week. Right now they are fulfilling the requests from the existing list, and will call me when they get to my name. I will google Branchville, NJ to see how far I am from there.
Be wary of having ANY retailer "store" your pellets for you.
There have been some horror stories about "your" bought and payed for pellets not there when you need them.
Only pay for what is delivered/picked up.

Did not work out apparently they don't deliver, and they wanted too much for the ton. They had Easy Blazrers and American wood white pine, but they wanted 325 for the ton, and I would have to go pick them up. Right now I am burning Heat'rs and the heat is good not as good as my GTplatinums, but we are getting tired of this pine smell. Right now I have enough shoulder bags to hold me over until January when the temp. drops then I will just burn my GT plats until the spring.
Agreed Nailer - seems like especially in times of tight regional or local supply, there are always going to be shady business practices out there. I've heard that it's illegal for retailers to charge a customers credit card account before they actually initiate delivery on the product that's been purchased, but it sure seems allot of pellet retailers take liberty with that policy.
I'm lucky that my pellet supply guy, who bought a huge 4 block long moth - balled shoe factory warehouse, will store my pellets inside for free after I early season order, but doesn't charge me until he delivers them.
That's why I am more than willing to pay a little more than the 'big box' pellet prices rates - I get great customer service, as well as the brand of pellets I want, versus having to play 'Russian roulette' guessing whatever pellet brand was low bidded for that big box stores purchase period.
