I particularly like the aesthetic of the thermal mass stoves of Scandinavia, northern Europe, and Russia. Watching the flames is not important to me.

I particularly like looking at the soft coloring and graining of the soapstone on my stove. The color blends nicely with its surroundings and it deepens with use. I think the whole package is subtle, smooth, and very elegant. To each his own, indeed!

Thanks for the compliment. When I finally get around to the mirror and the stencilling on the chimney I'll post some more shots.
 
I like the looks of the Classic too, but I like the looks of the flame, the light it gives off, and also like to be able to see what's going on in there. There is a glass door option for the Classic, but I heard it blackens up pretty good since there's no air wash
