Better jump on this deal before it's gone!

From the posting: "Has not been used since at least 2000, so its actual working condition is unknown. Suggested to sell for $4,000. Local pick-up only."

Opening bid is only $2,000. An apparent bargain.

Seems to be decimally challenged.

Yep. Since I'm looking for another F12, I tried to educate the seller. It fell on deaf ears.

If he sells it for $4K, I wonder if I can get the name of the buyer. I have an old Husky chain saw that hasn't been used in a few years that I would like to sell him. I would let it go for $1K for the "right minded" buyer. I would also offer him a bridge in Brooklyn that is for sale. :p

Looks like he re-listed it at $1,499 with a buy it now $1,999.
For the sucker err. "right minded" person who would buy that I might let that Husky go for a meer $500.

Looks like everyone was jumping on that price, not a single bid......... [Hearth.com] Old Jotul Firelight 12 - $4000 - unknown working condition

When i first read the preview of this , i though you were serious posting this link! I was thinking $4k for a 10+ year old stove that has not been used in years. Was trying to think how much a new one could possibly be! Cause i know i can walk right into the local Buck stove store here in town and can have my pick of stoves for under $4k Installed NEW!

Well if you don't ask...

He lives 20 minutes from me maybe I should jump on it? Well, if it were $500 might consider. ;)

I enjoy seeing VC Vigilants listed for $1,200-$2,000.

I'm looking for a Firelight 12, and if it were not an ugly blue enamel, I'd go $400 or more on it. In that color, I need to disassemble, sandblast, repaint... I'd likely be offering $250. Gotta wonder why he doesn't know if it works or not, and why it was removed from service after a relatively short life.

Done.

Nice a 3 million+ reduction, now it might attract some attention;)

Wiseass? It said 4000k, I thought that was the whole joke that started this thread?

Haha! No offense intended. Price was $4000, which is still roughly 10x the going rate for an old F12.
