I am now the proud owner of a Vigilant Wood stove totally in pieces. The parts are all there and I am in the process of putting it together. Here are my questions:

Assuming the rods can be removed without breaking them off, can I just use 1/4 threaded rod to replace or is there a heat issue.

Are gaskets required between the pieces. i.e. between the back and sides where there are channels to accept the sister piece. If so, what type of gasket to I use and where do I go to get them?
