Got distracted after stoking up the fire today came in from the garage and said my stove top looks like it's glowing red,sure enough turned out the lights and she was slightly glowing red,put the gloves on and cracked the door to let cool air in and it disappeared quickly, had to do it a couple times to get the secondary tubes cooled off and get the off gassing under control, I remember the first time I had to do this,panick city, it's been years since I've done this lol
 
Yup, it happens. Good that you know how to deal with if/when it happens though. I’ve open the stove door a good ways to allow more cool air in.
 
The first time is always the worst ,wondering if the stove and your house are going to both melt in front of your eyes, I have had people say wouldn't opening the doors and giving it more oxygen make it hotter,but as I've learned here it cools things down instantly,
