Hello this is my first post after reading for a while. We are adding a wood insert (Kuma Alpine) I've been reading and watching videos about chimney liners for days.

Here is what I think I've discovered but I'm here for some help to see if I'm on the right track.

The regular .006 liners (like the round flexible flue liner from Rockford) are not good. The smooth wall double wall (the only other option Rockford has) is also not good. A light heavyweight liner or hybrid liner would be a good choice.

If that's the case, I can't figure out where I can order a decent liner online. Everywhere I see online only has .006 liners or double smooth wall liners. Does anyone have a link of where they ordered their liner from? Will it be horrible if I order the cheap round liner from Rockford?

Thank you!!!

The light wall corregated liners are ok. They are the most common liner used and they work. But midweight is better for sure.

Try calling Scott, it's been years since we ordered from him. He drop shipped Olympia. 006 for my oil boiler reline. I have not used the Hybrid, I installed Olympia .016 heavy flex which I do not see on Olympia/Copperfield website. The link below is for ordering the Hybrid .010. If the .010 is an identical but thinner version of the.016 I have you would be happy with it.

Better in what way?
Is it a longer lifespan? If so, by how much?
Is it better heat retention? What if I'm planning to insulate it, would it really matter?

Its smooth inside so better draft and much thicker so it will last much longer

Makes sense. Thanks for the response.

I'm in the process of installing a Drolet 1500i. Manufacturer has its own liner, which I believe is corrugated, and they don't seem to mind. I guess they all work..? Just some have more resistance to draft than others.

I hear the Drolet generally let's too much air through, so I don't think I'm too worried about draft

Yes corregated light wall works its kind of a pain to work with and it can be easily damaged. But it does work. It is by far the most common liner used
