Osburn 2400 insert with 5.5" insulated liner

I'm looking at a new Osburn 2400 insert I would like to know if Osburn engineers will sign off on using a 35' high 5.5" insulated liner in my 7"x11" terra Cotta tile masonry chimney?
If they do agree, can I get it in writing from them for my city code office?

Yes, 5.5’’ or 6’’ are too close to make any difference. There is no issue using a 5.5’’ liner. Many people do when the chimneys are a bit tight. The fact that it is insulated will also favor draft.

I think that the extra half inch certainly doesn't make much difference especially since you have 35 feet of chimney! The 2400 is a mammoth heater! Just make sure you have properly seasoned wood otherwise you won't be impressed with the results...
