When I close the front door, the bottom hits the silver air control bar. When I moved the stove I took the doors off and suspect I lost a washer or something. Can a fellow Oslo-ian please describe what they have at each hinge....pin + washer + ???? etc. for top and bottom hinge.

Thanks a lot!!

Call Jotul 1.800.797.5912 . Say that you need immediate assistance that cannot be done by your dealer.
Try to get a schematic online.
Ask your dealer, or call nearby dealers.
Honestly, it not a problem we have had with our 3 Y.O. Oslo.

if the stove is new it is common to have to bend that handel down a littel and then you may have to pull it up a bit

I had to bend mine down a little for clearance... 8

You lost the bushing for the door pin. I'm sure you can use any appropiately sized bushing. Call the stove shop for the right size?

It might be a combo of both missing washer and slightly bent damper control, there is not alot of space on mine (2 credit cards worth)
I took my washer out and my door still clears the damper control with ease. Hope this helps.

There doesn't appear to be anything special about the washer. I bought a few of a similar size (but slightly thicker) at the hardware store, expecting that I'd lose the original sooner or later. I put the replacement on and could not detect any difference in the operation/fit of the door.

Does anyone know the actual purpose of this washer???

the washer is to make the door sit level you need to bend the air lever down. it is a common thing

Grab an appropriately sized washer at the hardware store. The door will swing smoother.

For the longest time I had a similar issue with the air control being stiff to move smoothly. I would remove the 2 screws for the cover, access to the slide. A little graphite oil on the slide and it moved perfect for a while. I was convinced this was the problem, but I will take a look at the clearance between the door and the leaver.

I use a much better lubricant, at Home Depot, P&B;dry spray lubricant. I do this 2 times a season.

Also, I no longer open the front door to clan the glass, or any other reason. Somehow the falling ash seamed to make this worse, although I never found it getting into the slide. I clean the glass from the side door.
