I am collecting materials to build an oak for my newer Santa fe. I looked at the premade kit and the instructions as a guide but there really is not any guidelines for placement and whatnot. Is there better locations than others? Should the pipe be insulated? Do I have to make a trim ring? Since I have a newer Santa fe how do I affix the pipe to the combustion port (2.75") inside the stove so its not drafty during non burning time?
I know I'm probably over thinking it but I want it to be a non ghetto installation.
My stove is corner installed and vented through the ceiling with standard thimble and bgm pellet pipe. I have found 2, 2.25, and 2.5" flex exhaust at Autozone. I was thinking to use a dryer vent cap but not sure how to convert the sizes.
