Outside vent in fireplace - can this be used with wood stove?

Our builder installed a little vent to outside on the wall in our masonry fireplace. Can this be used with the wood stove? It seems like its more efficient since it would not pull air from the house to heat. Thanks. W
 
If your stove has the option for an outside air kit (OAK) you could probably duct it through the vent (outside air) from the masonry fireplace.
