Ovaling round pipe?

Any suggestions? I need to get an 8" pipe down to 4" width and length doesn't matter Do I just start smushing it? Should I put anything inside to avoid crushing it? Thanks

More information is needed for an accurate answer. Are you talking about a stainless steel flexible liner? If so, I doubt there is any safe way to "ovalize" a pipe to that extent without damaging the liner.

Sorry, I thought I put that it was single wall black stove pipe.

How about reducing the size? Reducers are cheap.

No space (height wise) and I have what I have unfortunately. Im already making progress, I have it down to just under 6" by standing on it "gently". I think if I get it to >5.5 I will be good to go
