I've heard the term used on here often. Just what exactly is this (how hot) and what are the permanent effects on your stove?

thanks

Overfiring occurs at different tempuratures, based on what the manufacture determines to be harmfull to the stove. check your owners maunual. overfiring can cause warpage, broken welds, cracked cast iron, flue damage, all depends on how "hot" is "hot".

Stove top temps for the Lopi Liberty, low burn is 200-400 degrees, a medium burn is 400-600 and 600-800 degrees is considered a high burn. Info came from Travis Industries.
