Sounds like an air flow problem. You might need to clean again, do the Leafblower trick, or find a leak. Next time make sure the combustion blower stays running.started my stove for the first time. lit the pan with a torch closed the door and had weak flame. opened the door and tray was full spilling over suffocating the flame. what can this be?
When I clean mine I use a shopvac with double filters.end of season I take the stove on my deck and use a powerful blower to blow the whole thing down. it looks like mt st helen the dust that comes out for 2 minutes. the stove worked perfect shut it down for the summer tried to start it and got these results. I am thinking ESP probe or control board but how can either go bad when stove was shut down for the summer?
I have the feed rate below one. I have been lighting it manually for 7 years. I only turn the feed rate up a little after flame is going. I had it plugged in for 2 months after the season maybe surge of electric burned out part of the control board. I have surge protecters which I think are uselessWhen you light it manually don’t put too many pellets in the pot, turn the feed rate down and keep an eye on it for a half hour or so. I’ve had to do this when I lost my igniter
A good investment for everyone is whole home surge protection at your panel. I installed one. You would need an electrician or be comfortable adding a 2 pole breaker ect.I have the feed rate below one. I have been lighting it manually for 7 years. I checked the pipes they are clear. I have a short run of piping and I can stand on my deck to check themAs Said above, it seems to me that you have a combustion air problem.
Maybe a bird nest in the chimney or a wasp nest?
When you have proper air flow through the burn pot, the more pellets
fed, the higher or hotter the fire. If the fire goes out, there is not enough
combustion air to maintain a flame
Do you have OAK (Outside air kit)I checked the pipes they are clear. I have a short run of piping and I can stand on my deck to check them
never had it for 15 years on the stoveDo you have OAK (Outside air kit)
nothing will protect against lightning strike nearbyMy Harman is allergic to lightning. Even with a surge protector a close strike will take out the board. I've lost 2 boards that way. If I recall correctly one time it made the stove do what yours is. I keep a spare board on hand to diagnose board problems, when nothing else works I plug in my known good board and see if that fixes the problem. A $250 spare board isn't much more then the price of a service call I would guess.
Have you ever measured the vacuum? There is a section in the install manual that goes over it. I did it after my installer left. It is very simple. There is a bolt you remove and then stick a clear hose in it (airtight). Then take other end of the hose and make a loop. Fill with some water and ,mark the level before the combustion blower is running. The measure with it running, and multiply by two.never had it for 15 years on the stove
Then your insurance hopefully buys you all newnothing will protect against lightning strike nearby
never did that. you did that to a new stove?Have you ever measured the vacuum? There is a section in the install manual that goes over it. I did it after my installer left. It is very simple. Sure it's in the manual. Someone is supposed to do it. My guy was good installer, but perhaps not a pellet stove technician. There is a little adjustment POT. You could turn that up full CW. It's next to the Igniter lightnever did that. you did that to a new stove?
okAlso check the flapper on your air intake, easy enough to do especially without an OAK
