Got up this morning and checked the temps in the stove. It was on 5 but giving out heat equal to 4. Wiggled the knob and it went up to 5. So there's the problem. Not sure if it's the knob or the computer. The boards a year old, the new updated one.
Not even an hour later, it's back down to putting out heat levels of 4.

Get a can of this, a bit pricy but the best…spray it on the pots and work them back and forth, hasn’t failed me yet

CRC electronic cleaner is better to clean, De-oxit is a lubricant. Be carfull if you use De-Oxit it is possible to soften the carbon track the wiper rides on. Which could ruin the potentiometer.

I'm guessing I'll have to pop the board out and spray on the back, seeing as there's no access from the front.

More than likely ;)

I'm still messing with this thing. When I open the door should the status light go out, I understand that it stops feeding because of the vacuum leak. Also it increases the running temperature for a period of time. This afternoon it gave me 3f as it appeared by looking at it had turned itself down. This was running on 5, I clean the extra ash out of it a couple times a day and have noticed the temps increase, then fade. This is what I'm calling going to sleep. Same thing I notice in the mornings. This also appears to be the cause of the lower then normal temperatures I'm getting. Not necessarily a dirty contacts on the temp knob. I've been monitoring the temps inside and they're better then before but still down about 20f except after opening the door. And finally this experiment was based on a setting of 5. Normal is roughly 430 degress, it went every where from 385 to 420. I only got the 420 after opening the door and letting it wake up
385 is normal for a setting of 4.

Still pounding my head against the wall.

This morning checked the temperature on 5. It was 426f, not bad, but it was a little puddle of glowing ash. So I turned up the feed to 4 from 3 and pumped it up 5.5. it came alive, but Ill see for how long. It's 16f outside, and on 5 it should be baking in here. Which it wasn't. 70f. Only other info I can offer.

40 minutes later, it's up to 440, which is where it should be. Bigger pile of ash and flame. I've called the technicians to see if they can take one last look at it. If not it's going to the dump. Can't have heating equipment that's not reliable. Might just go back to a wood stove as power back up. Kinda wish I saved it.

4 is bang on. 🥳 Might be a dead spot. And more flame good sign.

Dead spot indicates a bad potentiometers trace.

Yup boards about a year old. The old one was really bad. Not sure it's still under warranty. Definitely not replacing it. Ill have to live with it. 2 more weeks and it will be used for back up.

2 is also bang on. That's as far as I'm going. Finally a nice day here today 35 and sunny as I type.

The numbers and temps you are trying to perfect are not written in stone, they are a guidline

Actually they are taken by me prior to restarting the stove. I have a list of them out of a manual also as a baseline. But you're sort of right, it all depends on how close you are to the source. You can pick up 20f by just getting closer. I just found that out. So a waste of time so to say.

The final chapter, replaced the exhaust fan, the mechanic also noticed the blower was packed full of hair and dust, cleaned that out and it runs great. I'm checking temps so far so good and because the blower is cleaned out getting better heat out of it. This was something the service company should have been doing every summer, but naaaaaa let's not. Quite pleased at the results. 🥳

how low can you run the fan, now that mine works proper? I'm getting way better heat now. Just don't want to over heat the stove. I run it in stove mode.

If you are in stove mode, with the switch up, the fan will only go to a minimum no matter what, but if you crank up the blower dial/pot it will go to full speed. You don't have to worry about overheating the stove, as it's controlled by the ESP, and should not go over 475F or so based on that chart. You will get the highest efficiency with the highest blower speed, but that is noisy.

K that's what's going on, also it's going to be warm here today. I don't want it to shut off, just give me minimal heat. If I turn it all the way to the left will it shut off or just idle away? It sounds like you're saying it will stay on which is perfect. Man huge difference with a functional fan. It's a good noisey. 🥳

You can turn it all the way down, as it will only go to the minimum distribution blower speed. On mine the speed does not go lower once I'm at about half.
