Technician was here. It started up find, is running at the temps it's suppose to, despite flame size etc. So for now I'm happy. 😁
That's great news - it's always nice to have a second opinion. And with this cold coming on the weekend we need our stoves. I am going to do my 3 week cleaning tomorrow when the weather is "warm". I have been packing down the ashes (not too hard) and could go another week but no need.

Yup it was 4f here this morning, back up didn't come on, but this weekend it will. 4f is going to look nice compared to what's coming. I do a clean every 2-3 weeks and was told by the tech once a week. None of the holes were plugged in the burn pot. He stuck the tester on and all the ESP numbers were good. And I used Windex on the window, wow way better then any of these "special purpose" glass cleaners. Stay warm, from Saturday on, it's frozen pipes weather. Just a note, I ran the Quadrafire when I turned the Harman off and it performed quite well by itself heating the place at single digit temps. 👍

There's a shot about an hour after working on it. That's set on 4. Almost perfect. 🥳. Note the super clean glass. 😁

Here's something most interesting. It's been running on 6 for the last 3 days. Been checking the internal temps and it's been around 440f. So 10:30 this morning I hear it expanding. Creeking. I go out and it's blazing away at 505f. Hasn't been touched, so it just turned itself up to past 7. Any explanation for that? The thing has a mind of its own. No change in weather/ temps. And I go back 10 minutes later, back to 440.

It’ll “blaze” until it’s reached and satisfied the ESP regardless of your settings.

That sounds like the ESP probe doing something funny

It has ghosts. It's the first time I've caught it doing that kind of thing. Had it 3 years. You ready for the power outages coming Sunday/Monday?
I just have to get some groceries and then I'm ready. I hope the power does not go out though. The last time I looked the storm might head east of me. It's been cold this winter, and whatever snow we've had lately is still around. I have been burning more pellets than I remember burning last year, but I only got it in Feb. I think I might be burning 1 1/2 bags a day. I still have lots left, and Home Depot has 1104 in stock which is not that much. They must have ordered more.

Yaa I'm burning 2 a day and I'm stocked up. It's moved east, but the wind will cause the issues here. I'm looking at 6 inches of snow now instead of over a foot. Sunday nights going to be ugly that's when the winds are going to peak. Started the generator just to make sure and will probably turn it on before I go to bed Sunday night if it is not on already. Run 1 stove on it and the other on the grid. Ill be running all my extension cords then also so I have lights and heat.

You and @Whitenuckler keep me thinking….but posting less ;)

It started again, same temp outside, no windchill, up to 4.5 now to get the same heat as 3 yesterday. Was fine this morning, ran it on 3 all night. Turned it up to get more heat, bring the inside up to 74. Then 4, no change (72), now at 4.5 waiting for it to come up. I just can't trust this thing to work. Ran it all day yesterday at 3 maintained 74. At no point has it been blazing like it used to. It's 28f outside, there's no way it should need 4.5.

Finally made it to 75, on 4.5, going to leave it there and see where it goes to. 29 now outside. Just measured the temp of the stove and it's where it should be, so I'm confused as to what's going on.

I've decided to go down, first stop is 4 and it's right in the numbers temp wise. It's also maintained 75, leaving it there for a while. I think there's a lesson coming here. 😯 It's holding at 75, so down to 3.5, where I may stop as it's going down to 20 vs 25 tonight. Temp at 3.5 is good. I guess I really should have checked them on the way up. Still at 75 but I betting it's going to drop. Stove temp is right in the zone holding at 75 half hour later. It definitely wasn't doing this on the way up, so by guess is the temp selector has a dead spot or 2, either way didn't work. Still at 75, almost an hour later. Big difference in flames.

Temperature has maintained or gone up. Down to 2 now. Stove temperature is going down though. No idea what's going on here. It's 75/76 in here.

I final stuck the 2 thermometers I'm using, outside to see if they're working right as the front of the house had come down 3 f and it's less then 10 feet away from the stove. Ones now reading 73 and the other 74. Before it was 75/76. Just too crazy. Stoves still on 2.

It appears, I've been had by 2 thermometers, and wasted a lot of time for nothing. 🤮

It may need new potentiometers? Clean the old ones with CRC electrical cleaner, leaves no residue. A drop of deoxit red will lube it for many years.

I'm actually getting heat pumps in 2 weeks, the night mares will be over then. It started working fine once I got to 4.5 and dialled it down. Ran fine through the night and this morning . No need to touch it this morning, it was 73 when I woke up, which is the perfect wake up temp. It has a new board in it maybe a year old. I'm also tired of posting stuff here, it's getting old. Some of it is my screw ups, some unexplainable as most of the workings on it are not even a year old. It should be running in room mode, but the last time I tried that it jammed up. No help from the dealer either. Another reason to stay away. But thanks for the input.

I checked the temps when I started shutting it down. They met the noted temps, so it was working properly. It's working fine now.

Got up this morning and checked the temps in the stove. It was on 5 but giving out heat equal to 4. Wiggled the knob and it went up to 5. So there's the problem. Not sure if it's the knob or the computer. The boards a year old, the new updated one.
