I'm seriously considering buying a Pacific Energy Super insert and I'd really like to know the measurement of the inside of the firebox.
The literature says 2.1 cu. ft.
and gives log size info, but I'd really like the dimensions.
I tried calling my local dealers and they don't have one on the floor to measure. The regional distributor in NC was reluctant to help. She said "Why do you need this information? No one has ever asked for it."
I said "If it's this difficult to get some measurements, then what should I expect when I need technical assistance after I own one?"
Please....is there anyone out there with this info?

If you already have this attitude towards a company,, you will never be satisfied... move on to the next company

It's roughly 18" x 18" x 11" IIRC.

Give these folks a call. They may have that info on hand.

Maybe we could make a sticky thread where people post their stove/insert and the firebox dimensions. I know I would have loved that when I was researching what insert to buy.

A cubic foot rating is almost meaningless if it will be impossible to stack the thing full. For example the quad voyageur grand was 2.3 cf and the 4100 2.4 cf, but the former had a wide but shallow box (24 * 10 * 12 or something, 24 tapering to like 20 at the back) whereas the 4100 was 19*19 by I think 12 or 13 high. A 19*19 box is way easier to load full than a shallow tapered E/W loader, thus despite only being 0.1cf bigger, I'd bet you could easily stuff 33% more wood in the 4100

Several times I've emailed the Pacific Energy company directly using the questions link from their website. They were quick and helpful in responding to my questions. One was as detailed as asking how many inches the ash lip protrudes in front of the T5s window so I could calculate dimensions - hearth size is a concern for me.
