Should I be using a stove thermometer with my Vista Insert? If so, have any Vista Insert owners figured out where to put one? The sides and top are not exposed and the front is mostly door and blower. I've seen suggestions on the forum of putting the thermometer on the top of an insert, but it looks like if I put it far enough back to get an accurate reading, I won't be able to see it.

There aren't a lot of good options. Get a smaller faced thermometer and try placing it on the face of the stove in the upper left or right corner.

I have a magnetic thermometer on the upper right corner of my freestanding Vista. It's just above the door and it works fine. It makes it easier to read since the stove is parked inside our fireplace.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find a small thermometer.
